“Otoha... Why?”
Here Alex was, all alone. The simple wedding band she twiddled around her finger scratched and burned at her skin, almost like a poison. Her tiny body gathered into a ball, her delicate arms wrapping themselves around her shivering form. She sat inside a cave, cold and wet and crying to herself. She would be alone for the rest of her life. In her frustration, her hands clasped tightly to the blood red horns protruding from her head and she began to violently pull and tug. Alex released a silent whimper as the pain in her head began to escalate; she could feel the nerves in her skull throbbing as she continued to pull. She used to love her horns, because they reminded her of their first meeting with Otoha and how sweet he had been to her. Now, they were just a terrible weight on her heart. She didn’t want to remember him anymore.
“Otoha... why did you leave me!” Alexandria hollered in the dark, her trembling voice reverberating in the cave, echoing her inner pain over and over again. Why hadn’t she died with him? She had been standing so close to him when he delivered that final blow. She remembered staring in terror as her vision blurred and became only white. Then, suddenly, it was only black and she rose from the ground, almost completely unharmed. Had he done that for her? Had he protected her from the blast.
“God damn you Otoha... why didn’t you let me die with you!” Her pink eyes glazed over with tears, before they fluttered, releasing long delicate drops of rain against her cheeks. How dare he leave her here. She had no one but him and this was what he did for her. She had no friends, no family, nothing. Everyone loved him. Nobody loved Alexandria but him, and now he was gone.
‘Don’t worry little bird.” That voice. It was the last thing Alex wanted to hear right now. Al always had a way of bringing out the worst in her. ‘I am here for you. I care for you.’
“Please Al... just leave me be.” She hissed at the voice in her head, her little fingers clawing at her horns in anguish and fury. “Why can’t you just go away!”
‘Aw... don’t be like that little one. I’m the only one that’s here for you now, so please.’ His husky voice paused and for a moment, Alex thought she could almost feel him beside her, wrapping himself around her in his dark aura. ‘Just give up and give me your body...’
“NO!” She threw her body upward, his arm flailing to remove the evil mist surrounding her. The phasma within her body shot at all sides of the cave, scratching and punching at the walls, almost like she was trying to bury herself in here and never escape. “GET AWAY!” She screamed again, before collapsing to the ground in loud cries, the tears now raining down her china white face.
“O-Otoha...”
